Canada's prince of MOR rock Bryan Adams plans Israel/Palestine unity shows.
The recent bosomy, beachy advertising campaign for Israeli tourism has certainly worked on someone, as Canada's Bryan Adams heads up two free concerts in Tel Aviv and the West Bank in mid-October. That's exactly what the Israeli-Palestine peace process needed: whitebread nostalgia rock. The concerts are aligned with New York's One Voice peace movement, which is aiming to collect one million signatures from Israelis and Palestinians to demand peace talks between the nation states. Fathi Darwish, the head of One Voice's Ramallah office said, "Our goal is to send a message to the world, that the Palestinian people love life, and hope for life and liberation."
Concertgoers don't have to pay for the shows, but they will have to sign the petition to gain entrance.
