Detroit rap heroes Slum Village visit Australia for the first time this October.
While not exactly a household name, Slum Village have been delivering conscious, clever and catchy hip hop from 1996 until this very day. They began as a trio featuring rappers Baatin and T3 and producing from Jay Dee, the influential producer better known as J Dilla who passed away in 2006.After line-up manoeuvres and four respected albums, Slum Village became a trim duo of T3 and Elzhi. They've worked with luminaries like Kanye West, Busta Rhymes, Kurupt, Pete Rock, Q-Tip from A Tribe Called Quest, Ol' Dirty Bastard and Common.
Seen as part of a new wave in the vein of Tribe, De La Soul and Jungle Brothers, Slum Village are sure to please discerning hip hop heads.
