System of a Down's Daron Malakian and John Dolmanyan have started work on their side project Scars on Broadway.
The pair commenced work on the album last week.The have written 18 songs for the record which is described as "expansive, experimental and in-your-face'.
In a statement to fans, Dolmanyan says Yesterday, Daron and I begin recording Scars On Broadway's debut album. We've gone in with close to 18 songs. The music is expansive, experimental, and sometimes in-your-face... We're very excited to get it down and get it out to all of you. We'll have some more updates as we move deeper into the recording, but until then, stay posted and prepared to get scarred for life."
The album will be released early 2008.
