The Australian Record Industry Association Awards, the ARIA's, continues down the indie path with two indie bands taking out the most nominations.
Sneaky Sound System are out front with 6 nominations to their credit. John Butler Trio is not far behind of 5.The pattern follows previous years with Ben Lee and John Butler being named for most awards.
Sneaky Sound System have been nominated for Best Dance Release, Album of the Year, Single of the Year, Best Independent Release, Best Group and Best Breakthrough Artist - Album categories.
John Butler Trio has been nominated for Album of the Year, Single of the Year, Best Independent Release, Best Blues and Roots Album, and Best Male Artist (John Butler).
Butler, who is currently on tour in Glasgow, said in a statement "It's an honour to be in such great company for the aria nominations. It means a lot to be recognised by our peers and we are really proud to be part of such thriving and unique music community."
The ARIA's will be held at Acer Arena in Sydney on October 28.
