'Dreams To Remember: The Legacy of Otis Redding' will have its world premiere at the Grauman Egyptian Theatre on October 8.
Attending the screening will be Otis' widow Zelma, Wayne Jackson of the Mar-Keys, historian Rob Bowman and directors David peck and Phil Galloway, who will take part in a panel discussion following the screening.The movie was produced to mark the 40th anniversary of the death of Otis Redding, who died on December 10, 1967 in a plane crash.
His legacy includes the classics 'Sitting On The Dock of the Bay', 'Try A Little Tenderness' and 'Respect'.
The movie will also be released on DVD to mark the 50th Anniversary of Redding's label Stax Records.
Tickets for the screening are $10.
The panel discussion will be followed by a bonus screening of the recently discovered 'Stax/Volt Revue Live In Norway 1967' concert featuring Redding, Sam & Dave, Booker T & The MGs and Eddie Floyd.
