An estimated 20,000,000 people have registered for tickets to Led Zeppelin's reunion show in November.
After a brief consultation with the official Undercover Calculator, fans find themselves with a 1-in-1000 chance of snaring a £125 ticket, considering the 20,000 capacity of London's O2 Arena, where the concert will take place.Promoter Harvey Goldsmith issued a missive directed toward prospective scalpers. "We just hope and pray that those people who get a ticket in a ballot are just going to act accordingly," he said. "They might have paid the money but they ain't going to get the ticket [if they purchase from a scalper]."
The concert is a tribute to Atlantic Records founder Ahmet Ertegun, who died last year. Goldsmith personally wrote a letter to Robert Plant, Jimmy Page and John-Paul Jones, saying " 'Look this is an opportunity for you to come together and really pay homage to your mentor and mine, and would you do it?' Much to my amazement they came back and said yes."
