The first line-up has been announced for Philip Island's Pyramid Rock New Year's Festival.
The relative newcomer has managed to snare a line-up of some of Australia's most successful acts for 2007's shenanigans.First up, the independent success story of the last two years, Hilltop Hoods, will grace the main stage with their Strine hip-hop. The ongoing success story of independent music The Cat Empire will also bring the rootsy party jams for the masses. And the latest independent heroes, Sneaky Sound System, give the crowds feel-good dancefloor hits.
Grunge rock heroes Grinspoon and You Am I join the club. Variants on the wild colonial boys of old, these bands of rogues certainly have a monster live show and following. Topping off the headliners are California's hyperactive arty pop-punkers The Matches.
There's plenty more to whet the appetite at Pyramid Rock. They've also announced US acts People Under The Stairs and That 1 Guy, plus Cog, Blue King Brown, Kora, Kisschasy, The Audreys, Howling Bells, Wolf And Cub, British India, Horsell Common, Dallas Frasca, Mammal, The Exploders, Young & Restless, Damn Arms and Bluejuice. And there's more to come!
Tickets for the three day festival go on sale on Thursday September 20.
