Brooklyn duo Tiny Masters Of Today get indie stars' approval.
The impossibly young brother-sister duo Ivan and Ada (he just in his teens, her two years younger) have already launched their debut album 'Bang Bang Boom Cake' on hot label Mute in the UK. What's extra special about them, apart from their addictive, rudimentary garage stomp, is the slew of alterna-rock heroes singing their praises. After they uploaded a couple of tracks on myspace, Jon Spencer Blues Explosion drummer Russell Simins was hooked and went on to guest on their album. The buzz spread around and these two junior punks managed to get contributions from Karen O and Nick Zinner of Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Gibby Haynes of Butthole Surfers, anti-folk artist Kimya Dawson and The B-52's Fred Schneider.
In addition to this ultra-hip list of guests and feverish critical acclaim, Tiny Masters Of Today have the endorsement of none other than David Bowie. He described the band as "Genius", saying their song 'Stickin' It To The Man' from their EP 'Big Noise' is a "slice of detached cool [that] comes across like Suicide crashing a Shaggs rehearsal."
