New comedy film 'Walk Hard' promises a strange selection of music cameos.
The 'Walk The Line'-style film is the latest effort from 'Knocked-Up' and '40-Year Old Virgin' writer/producer Judd Apatow. Featuring John C. Reilly, Will Farrell's offsider from 'Talladega Nights', the film is the rags-to-riches story of fictional musical legend Dewey Cox.According to imdb, the film is set to feature Jack White as Elvis Presley and an appearance of Pearl Jam's Eddie Vedder as himself. The Beatles are rumoured to be performed by Paul Rudd (Lennon), Jack Black (McCartney), Justin Long (Harrison) and Jason Schwartzman (Ringo Starr), with 'Malcolm In The Middle' star Frankie Muniz as Buddy Holly.
Even more odd is the theme song. In an article on Billboard about Texan country star Lyle Lovett, it tosses off a remark that he has worked on the theme song with Jackson Browne, Jewel and Ghostface Killah. Yup, he's written the theme with an adult contemporary stalwart, a pop/folk pixie and member of the Wu-Tang Clan. The trailer features all but Ghostface performing the song.
'Walk Hard' is set to be released in December in the US.
