Van Halen featuring David Lee Roth are planning a new studio album.
Roth has recorded a few songs for the greatest hits album in the 90s but has not recorded an album with the band since 1984's '1984'.Roth and Van Halen announced the plans at the press conference for their forthcoming tour earlier this week.
Although they talked about a new record, no-one was prepared to estimate a release.
Van Halen will tour North America from September.
Roth made some interesting comments on the band. "This is not like The Police. The idea is that this will go on and on and on. This is like a brotherhood like it never was before," he said.
The current line-up featured Eddie Van Halen's son Wolfgang on bass, in place of discarded founding member Michael Anthony.
