The original version of Santana's 'The Game Of Love', recorded with Tina Turner, will surface on his forthcoming best of album.
The final release of the Grammy nominated song featured a duet with Michelle Branch. Santana's label didn't think the original version was "young enough" so they had the guitar legend record the song with Branch.Branch in turn bagged the song after its release stating publicly that she didn't really want to do it, but was talked into it by her label.
So, when 'Ultimate Santana' is release on October 16th, the Tina version will finally see light of day.
'Ultimate Santana' will also feature a new song with Chad Kroeger. 'Into The Night' was recorded specifically for this release.
2007 marks the 40th anniversary of Santana as a live act.
The album will be the first Santana compilation to cover his entire career.
