Frente frontwoman Angie Hart releases her solo debut single and album.
It's rather hard to believe that it's taken almost fifteen years since 'Accidentally Kelly Street' shot Frente to Australian pop infamy for the twee group's singer to commit her solo material to tape. Hart has certainly kept herself busy, in the duo Splendid with her then-husband Jesse Tobias, reuniting with Frente in 2004, and singing with Leonardo's Bride instrumentalist Dean Manning as Holidays On Ice.But come September 22, she'll release her solo debut 'Grounded Bird' on ABC Records. The first single from the album 'Cold Heart Killer', a sultry amble featuring her inimitable girlish vocals, is available for download on August 25. The "small and intimate" album features songs co-written by Ben Lee, Dan Luscombe of The Drones and Texan songwriter Craig Ross (who has worked with Daniel Johnston and Spoon).
Hart will skip through Sydney, Brisbane, Adelaide and Melbourne for a series of album launches in October.
