Swedish firebrands The Hives announce their fourth studio effort 'The Black And White Album'.
Following their breakthrough hit 'Tyrannosaurus Hives' in 2004, it seems that these dapper Swedes have been laying low. Not so. They've been touring like demons with their now legendary live performances, doing hip hop collaborations with the biggest in the business and even landing a Nike ad, all while preparing their new album.Ignoring any calls of "sell out", The Hives contributed to Timbaland's solo album with the track 'Throw It On Me'. They've teamed up with Pharrell Williams in the studio in Miami. They've handed their image and a snippet of new song 'Tick Tick Boom' to a Nike+/ Finish Line television spot. And they're on tour across the US with Maroon 5.
But the real business is with new record 'The Black And White Album'. The monochrome magnum opus was produced by Jacknife Lee, Tomas Oberg (from Swedish band Bob Hund) and Dennis Herring (Elvis Costello, Modest Mouse).
'Tick Tick Boom' will be the first single, downloadable in the US from August 14 and the UK from September 24. 'The Black And White Album' appears October 8 in the UK and October 9 in the US.
