Lily Allen claims she has no idea why she had her US visa revoked upon arriving in Los Angeles last weekend.
Allen had flown in from Australia, and was detained at Los Angeles airport for five hours. Her O-1 work visa was subsequently revoked.Record label EMI denied suggestions from the BBC that Allen's detention was related to her arrest in June, itself the result of an incident outside a nightclub in March. She was not charged with any offence.
"The authorities decided to revoke her American O-1 work visa. She has no idea why she was singled out for such treatment," EMI spokesman Murray Chalmers said. "We are sure we have enough time to sort the situation before her next visit in September."
