ARIA Award-winning blues artists Mia Dyson announces her third album 'Struck Down'.
In an impressive turn of events, this rustic blueswoman's debut album 'Cold Water' was nominated for an ARIA in 2003. Then her follow-up, 'Parking Lots', won the ARIA for Best Blues And Roots Album in 2005, quite a feat considering the massive resurgence in the genres in Australia.Dyson has spent her time hitting the road hard, appearing at Australia's most prestigious events, including East Coast Blues & Roots Music Festival, West Coast Blues & Roots Festival, Falls Festival, Womadelaide as well as breaking hearts at Canada's North By Northeast music Conference and at Scotland's Edinburgh Festival.
In 2006 Dyson joined Frank Zappa's Mothers Of Invention on stage and performed in New York's Central Park with Ani DiFranco. She was also lucky enough to be hand picked as support for Eric Clapton's recent Australian tour, as well as by Bonnie Raitt for her 2007 jaunt.
'Struck Down' will be released with a limited edition bonus disc of home demos on August 25 through Black Door Records. She promises a national tour in support of the album through September and October.
