Keith Richards is set to recount all that he can remember in an autobiography, slated for a 2010 release.
The guitar great has signed a $7 million deal with British publisher Weidenfeld and Nicolson, and US publisher Little, Brown and Co. It will be ghost-written by author James Fox.Richards, an only child, spent his early musical life as a choirboy, and was introduced to the likes of Louis Armstrong and Duke Ellington by his mother. As he approached adolescence, his focus switched to Chuck Berry and the blues guitar.
"Keith Richards has stood cool at the centre of the hurricane for nearly 50 years," said Michael Pietsch of Little, Brown.
"His story, in his own words - the band, the songs, the tours, the life - will be the most eagerly awaited book ever to come out of the hallowed halls of rock and roll."
It remains to be seen how well Richards will be able to recollect aspects of his life from the ages 15 through 60.
