The National Union Of Malaysian Muslim Students have called for the banning of Gwen Stefani's scheduled performance in Kuala Lumpur.
The 10,000-strong group have described the performance as 'obscene'. Stefani's skimpy outfits and suggestive on-stage routine are at the centre of the controversy, though it's possible the group possess more of a general indignation toward Stefani's questionable recent musical output."Her video clips promoting the event are too obscene," Mohamad Hilmi Ramli, the group's president, told the Reuters news agency. "We want the organizers to cancel the concert, failing which we will ask the authorities to intervene."
The show in the nation's capital is scheduled to go ahead on August 21.
