The last two shows on Christina Aguilera's current Australian tour have been cancelled.
After earlier postponing Saturday's show until Sunday, yesterday afternoon both the Sunday and Monday shows in Melbourne were officially cancelled."I want to personally apologize to all of my fans for having to cancel my last two shows here in Melbourne," Christina said in a statement. "Unfortunately, I have fallen ill with a bad flu virus. This is one of the best cities in the world to perform in and I am truly disappointed that I won't be able to share my show with you all. Thank you for all of the continued love and support and I hope to perform for you all again next time."
Christina is suffering from a viral upper respiratory tract infection and has a high fever and abnormal coughing.
She will remain in Melbourne for a few days under doctor's supervision before a decision is made about her upcoming New Zealand shows, the last on her Back To Basics world tour.
A number of Christina's touring party have also fallen ill on this tour.
Fans with tickets to the last two Melbourne shows will be given a full refund from their original point of purchase.
