Bipolar UK pop legends The Cure announce new DVD, double album, and more.
Speaking to Billboard, Robert Smith has spoken about a forthcoming DVD on the band to celebrate the 30th anniversary of their 'Three Imaginary Boys' debut in 2009. He says that it'll include interviews with all ex- and current members, as well as important figures in the group's history.Smith looks to get longitme Cure video director Tim Pope to work on it. He said, "Tim has been there from 1982 onward into the mid '90s," he says. "We've kept in touch and he's done some things with us since. People will react to him very well in an interview scenario." He suggests there'll be over 20 hours of footage, some of which will end up on their website.
Also, there are plans to reissue classic albums 'Disintegration' and 'Wish' with remixes in 2008. The band are currently working on a double-album as their thirteenth studio effort in between tours to Japan, Australia, Canada and all across the US until October.
Sadly, there is no update on the news earlier this year of Robert Smith's collaboration with Ashlee Simpson.
