Multi-Grammy winner Alicia Keys announces her third studio album.
Keys has spoken to Billboard about her third album for J Records. Profligate songwriter Linda Perry (who has penned tunes for Gwen Stefani, Pink, Christina Aguilera and scores more) is on board, having contributing three songs to 'As I Am', which is due for release on October 23.Keys suggested that the new album will have a more rock and funk vibe. She said of the Perry songwriting collaboration, "My roots are soul, hip-hop and jazz. She's rock but soulful as well." Keys has also enlisted Mark Batson, Kerry "Krucial" Brothers and Harold Lilly Jr. to assist in the writing process. John Mayer and Floetry vocalist Marsha Ambrosius will guest star.

The singer showcased one of the Perry tunes, 'The Thing About Love', at the New Jersey Live Earth event. She only has one other date scheduled before the release of 'As I Am', an appearance at the annual Fashion Rocks Concert at Radio City Music Hall on September 6.
