Nick Cave has announced a double-header tour for Australia in October.
It's a double-header is as much as Cave will play a solo set from behind the grand piano, then he'll bring his latest project to the stage to play the gritty dark blues rock that appeared on Grinderman's self-titled debut of early 2007.Cave with hold court as an opener, reinterpreting Bad Seeds classic like the performances in Australia in 2000. But the main event will be when he is joined by Warren Ellis (of The Dirty Three) on violin, mandolin and bouzouki, ex-Triffid and current Bad Seed Martyn Casey on bass and longtime New York underground icon Jim Sclavunos on drums.
It'll be the first time the supergroup has performed their songs in Australia, having wowed crowds in London and prepared shows throughout the US in July (including a White Stripes support at Madison Square Garden). Tickets go on sale Friday July 20.
