After marked success OS, eclectic indie pop sextet Architecture In Helsinki return home.
Melbourne's pixyish travellers Architecture In Helsinki are gambolling back to Australia for some joyous all ages shows to preview their forthcoming album 'Places Like This'. The kids skipped around the country in May to plug their single 'Heart It Races'.The kitschy worldbeat sounds of 'Heart It Races' have been getting much love internationally, New York Times critic Jon Pareles beaming that it's "too much fun". They've spent time in the UK, US and Europe, invited to play the illustrious All Tomorrow's Parties and Primavera festivals and selling out London's King's College. In fact, members now claim New York and Brazil as home towns.
Before they head off again to the UK in September and for a US tour through their autumn, Architecture In Helsinki bring Portland, Oregon-based "electro-jammer" Yacht along for the three shows in Sydney and Melbourne in July. 'Places Like This' is set for an August release on Illinois label Polyvinyl Record Co.
Tour Dates:
Friday July 27 - Manning Bar, Sydney
Saturday July 28 - Cloud City, Brunswick (5pm and 9pm shows)
