Radio Birdman, Jo Jo Zep and the Falcons and Brian Cadd are all set to be inducted into the ARIA Hall of Fame next month.
Radio Birdman were only together for four years, from 1974 - 1978, but in that time they set the standard for hard hitting garage rock worldwide. Loved by many, including The Stooges, the band gathered a small but highly influential following. The band reformed in 1996 but did not release an album of new material until 2006's 'Zeno Beach'.
Jo Jo Zep and the Falcons biggest hit was 'Shape I'm In', a reggae infused tune that infected radio stations across the country. The leader of the band, Joe Camilleri, later formed The Black Sorrows and currently fronts a number of bands, including various solo lineups.
The Falcons also included Wilbur Wilde, who would later go on to be a member of the house band on the long running variety show, Hey Hey It's Saturday throughout the 80s and 90s.
Brian Cadd has featured in bands The Groop and Axiom - the latter of which had the huge hit 'A Little Ray Of Sunshine'.
Radio Birdman, Jo Jo Zep and Brian Cadd all join the already announced 2007 inductees, Hoodoo Gurus, Marcia Hines and Frank Ifield.
The ceremony will be held at the Plaza Ballroom of Melbourne's famed Regent Theatre on Wednesday July 18, 2007.
