At a private party performance for Fall Out Boy, bassist Pete Wentz sets security on heckler.
Fall Out Boy were performing an acoustic set at a Spin Magazine party in Chicago to around 200 industry types and friends. One partier decided that he'd had enough of the limelight hogging emo poster boy Wentz and chose to start heckling him.According to an eyewitness quoted by MTV, the punter was calling Pete a "sell-out", inquiring as to the whereabouts of his poppet girlfriend Ashlee Simpson and making fun of Pete's clothes. Wentz reportedly joked along with it until he had to leave the stage and pass the heckler.
After being grabbed by him, Wentz admitted to MTV in an email that he punched the man. "Yell all you want at me, say whatever, but in a situation like that I will defend myself," he wrote. But according to the witness, it didn't end there. After the scuffle, Wentz set his security guards on the heckler, who were reportedly, "pounding on the guy. The guy was down on floor, shirt ripped, bleeding from ear and nose. There was a lot of blood."
It's easy to start a fight if you have a squad of gorillas to finish it for you.
