Speaking to an Irish paper, The Edge has revealed details of their next album, speaking of the freedom they allowed themselves to create the album they wanted.
"One of the luxuries we've afforded ourselves is not to have to think about exactly what it will be or how it'll be finished or when it'll be released," he told Hot Press. The band traveled to Fez, Morocco to find inspiration for the album.
"It was one of those ideas that wouldn't go away. We were there during a festival of sacred music in Fez, so we saw some amazing artists. It's all stuff that just takes you out of your comfort zone, and we seem to thrive in that situation, where expectations are really disregarded and you're there to explore and discover new things."
The band are currently back in Ireland ready to get to work.
Details of the album are at best sketchy, but it is believed that the band have been writing songs with legendary production team Brian Eno and Daniel Lanois (who produced/engineered U2's first complete reinvention album - 'Achtung Baby').
