Australian independent artists, managers and publishers will be given the opportunity to keep up-to-date with the European music community with a live video briefing on Wednesday 9 August.
The briefing, organised by Australian Independent Record Labels (AIR) and Austrade, will focus on the opportunities held for independent artists at the upcoming Popkomm event in Berlin on 20-22 September.Popkomm hosts around 800 exhibitors from around the world across many facets of the music and entertainment industry. AIR, in co-operation with Austrade, will this year host a joint Australian Independent Music stand at Popkomm, and are offering music label managers, music tour managers, music publishing companies and self-managed artists the opportunity to take part in the event.
From 5pm on Wednesday 9 August, a live video briefing will be held in Austrade's Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane and Perth offices. Eva Klitz, Managing Director of VUT (Germany's Independent Music Industry body), will speak, and participants will be able to hear what AIR and Austrade have planned for the September event.
