The German leg of the Live Earth global concert will feature former Soundgarden, Audioslave frontman Chris Cornell and rapper Snoop Dogg.
The German announcement was made at a press conference in Stuttgart yesterday. The show will take place in Hamburg on July 7.Other acts announced for Germany are Katie Melua, Sasha, Jan Delay, Juli, Lotto King Karl, Mana, Michael Mittermeier, Reamonn, Roger Cicero and Silbermond.
Two time Olympic champion Katrina Witt attended the conference and announced she would be speaking on stage at the event.
Live Earth concerts will begin in Sydney, Australia and continue across all 7 continents with events in Tokyo, Japan; Shanghai, China; Johannesburg, South Africa; London, United Kingdom; Hamburg, Germany; Istanbul, Turkey; and Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, before concluding in New York, United States.
The event is being presented by American shouldabe President Al Gore. "Live Earth will unite people from across all seven continents to spur action against the climate crisis from individuals, corporations and governments," Gore said. "Live Earth will spread our call for action to address the climate crisis to Germans, Europeans and people worldwide."
Gore is chairman of the Alliance for Climate Protection and a Partner of Live Earth.
