Dave Gilmour, Nick Mason, Richard Wright and Roger Waters were together in the same venue last week to celebrate the life of their bandmate Syd Barrett. However, Floyd fans did not get the reunion they expected. Waters performed separately to the other three members.
The event known as Roger Syd Barrett, Madcap's Last Laugh was a tribute show held in London's Barbican Hall. Barrett died last year.Roger Waters performed his own song 'Flickering Flame' in the first half of the show, while Gilmour, Mason and Wright performed the Barrett penned 'Arnold Layne' in the second half of the show.
Gilmour, Mason and Wright performed under their individual names. They were not introduced as Pink Floyd.
One of Pink Floyd's best known songs 'Shine On You Crazy Diamond' was written about Barrett. It was not performed at the show.
Profits from the concert were donated to SANE, a mental health care charity.
