Socialite and wannabe pop-star Paris Hilton is heading for the slammer.
For a country that has a judicial system considered clammy at best for celebrities, Paris has beaten the odds and will spend 45 days in jail from June 2nd for a parole violation.The billionheir paparazzi playpal was caught drunk driving on a suspended sentence in January. She was also driving at night on a Hollywood freeway in her Bentley Continental GTC with her headlights off.
She had lost her license for drink driving last year, ordered to attend an alcohol rehabilitation center but failed to do so.
Paris' sentence is being read as positive by the US media. The overall feeling in the USA was that she could have killed somebody by her actions.
Her parents Rick and Kathy Hilton attended court in support of their daughter.
As she left the court, Paris' only words to the media were "I'm sorry, I'm sorry".
