The Guns N' Roses saga continues, with the band getting bottled off stage in the UK.
The band are currently completing a short, but sold out, tour of the UK as part of their comeback. But even the payers at their Newcastle Metro Radio Arena show on July 19 couldn't stop themselves from ending the Gunners' set with a hail of bottles. In what is becoming a regular occurrence, ringleader Axl Rose has released a press release responding to the incident. NME reports that Rose says, "Getting hit wasn't a big deal. We stopped the song and gave a warning. We came back and started the song over and completed it. We then said goodnight. The house lights went down and I got hit a second time, in the mouth, by a solid object thrown by someone in the audience."
They had already played for two hours before their set wound up with punters hurling projectiles and, according to NME, booing. Axl called the show off and stated that he received the support of bandmates Izzy Stradlin, bassist Tommy Stinson and drummer Frank Ferrer. He said, "This has been G N' R's policy since playing Donnington in 1988."
The band have four more dates left on their UK jaunt.
