Paul Dempsey, lead moaner for mope-rock outfit Something For Kate, plans a solo album.
Dempsey has performed many an acoustic solo show, but never with his own material. While he will spend time focussing on his own solo project he was quick to assure fans that Something For Kate have not broken up but are merely on hiatus.Speaking to news.com.au, the singer said, "I have always played solo, acoustic shows on the side but have always played Something for Kate material." He reiterated that band still plan more releases, "The three of us are the best of friends and love playing together ... but this is as much for ourselves as it is for our audience." He noted, "It's time to have a little rest and go back to the band later."
The band still have live shows planned, including April 22's 'Rockin' For Rights' event at the SCG (in protest of the Government's new workplace relations laws) alongside Hoodoo Gurus, Beasts Of Bourbon, You Am I and more. They have also announced a second show at Melbourne's Corner Hotel for May 6 after selling out their May 5 show.
