After more than 40 years in service to John, Paul, George and Ringo, Neil Aspinall has stood down as the CEO of The Beatles Apple Corps Ltd.
Aspinall joined The Beatles as a roadie when the group was still in Liverpool. He was the road manager and personal assistant to the band during their Beatlemania years.Neil Aspinall and Paul McCartney were in the same class at school. George Harrison was one year below them.
In the early days, Aspinall used to drive the band and their equipment around in a Commer van. In 1970, he became an executive of the Beatles company Apple Corps and held the position up until this week.
In his time at Apple, Aspinall was Executive Producer of the Anthology project and drove The Beatles '1' album.
Neil will be replaced by former Sony BMG executive Jeff Jones.
