Rollicking UK rocker Jamie T announces two solo shows in Australia.
The 21-year old has been described "like the bastard lovechild of Billy Bragg and Mike Skinner doing his best Joe Strummer impression" by UK's Canvas Magazine. Despite NME gushing over his album 'Panic Prevention', and awarding him Best Solo Artist at this year's NME Awards, they're not alone. He scored raves in Mojo, Q, Uncut, GQ, Evening Standard, The Times, Vogue and more before the album topped out at number four on the UK charts. The album led off with a knee-slapping Cockney rock ditty 'If You Got The Money' which might be responsible for some dubbing him a 'one-man Arctic Monkeys'. The single hit number 13 on the UK charts and he managed to get a top ten placing for his most recent effort 'Calm Down Dearest'.
He squeezes his short promo tour of Sydney and Melbourne in between a string of Euro and UK shows through April, before returning to tour Europe with choppy German garage punks Beatsteaks.
Tour dates:
Tuesday 8 May - Candy's Apartment, Sydney
Thursday 10 May - The Ding Dong Lounge, Melbourne
