John Butler Trio celebrate the release of their new album 'Grand National' with a free Fed Sq showcase.
On April 5, the roots band will play an extra special show where songs from the album will be performed with the musicians that contributed to it. They promise a live horn section, string section, as well as an appearance from Vika and Linda Bull, Jex Saarelaht and other collaborators.It's their only solo show announced so far before they play Sydney's Great Escape Festival, Byron's East Coast Blues and Roots Festival and head off on a European, UK and US tour through April, May and June. There is one other way to catch them, as they promise a MySpace Secret Show in Adelaide on April 2 from 7:30, but you must sign up to the site for information on the venue.
The extra busy boys will also appear in a session broadcast via the internet on April 5 through Philadelphia radio station XPN show The World Caf??. Log on to www.xpn.org to hear it on the day or anytime afterwards on America's National Public Radio site, www.npr.org.
