Caroline are pleased to announce Mayer Hawthorne’s long-awaited third LP Where Does This Door Go, to be released locally on July 19th. Hawthorne recently revealed the cover art and album tracklisting via an interview with Jay Z's Life + Times.

Where Does This Door Go features a host of top-flight production work from Pharrell Williams, Greg Wells, Jack Splash, and Oak (of Oak & Pop), as well as a collaboration with hip-hop heavyweight Kendrick Lamar. Recorded in LA, Miami and New York, some describe the vibe of the album as “Steely Dan meets the Beastie Boys,” which suggests both a studio seriousness and playful approach, always evident in Hawthorne's work. The Michigan native’s last album How Do You Do, quickly garnered critical praise for the classic, soulful Motown sound. The New York Times describes Hawthorne as “an able singer, a gifted mimic and an arranger of astonishing precision” and he has received praise from fellow musicians Justin Timberlake, Kanye West, John Mayer, Snoop Dogg, and more.
