Originally from Ghana moving to Canberra while a little nipper, Citizen Kay is making his first official waves in the music scene down under.
'Yes' has enough posture, dynamism and has an uncomplicated concept that puts Kay’s vocally dexterity and lyrical flow upfront. It'll have everyone from true hip-hop lovers to suburban rap devotees loving the horn stabs and nodding along intently. The only drawback is its length - you'll want more.
The hopeful songwriter began rapping under the name 'Kay' since 2008 and is has known for mic and all round music skills in the Capital. Writer, producer and collaborator he's gained a name as 'the go-to guy' for other artists around town.
After receiving tons of press attention and underground plaudits Citizen Kay is set to release his first official single 'Yes!' on Friday 22 March from his debut same-named EP out in April.
