Forming back in 2003 from remnants of definitive stoner metal band Sleep, Al Cisneros on vocals and bass and Chris Hakius on drums, OM released three albums plus singles and EPs known for their minimalist approach.
Their fourth album, ‘God Is Good’, joined by new drummer Emil Amos (Grails, Lilacs and Champagne and Holy Sons), is their fifth and most recent studio offering, 'Advaitic Songs'. The 2012 release saw versatile musician Robert Aiki Aubrey Lowe join the band full-time and received critical acclaim for its focus and progressive style.
It would be easier to find spiritual enlightenment through meditation than to find a band like OM.
