Melbourne rock band Empra will be performing at a series of showcase concerts in Los Angeles, California this April.
In support of their overseas trip, Empra are holding a fundraising benefit concert at the John Curtin Bandroom on Friday 8 March and releasing a free Live EP of their performance at Revolver last year to all supporters. Sharing the stage with Empra on the night are sleazy sludgers Sexy/Heavy and Canberra’s very own alt-rockers The Heroines.
Four singles from their self-titled debut album are frequently getting airtime on the radio with, familiar to everyone and their dog, Gotye featuring on ‘Sabrina’. No wonder then that Empra has already sold out the first pressing of the rock solid album. The industrious band have been composing their latest material during the balmy summer months and working alongside Haydn Ing (Calling All Cars) to get ready for more to come our way this coming May.
If you like the energy of The Foo Fighters, the punkiness Green Day and the thoughtful emotion of Weezer then Empra are a band for you. Undercover.fm hope the boys make sure those yanks get an ear full of their melodic alternative rock.
