Ridley Scott Associates, Black Dog Films and Scott Free London, the team behind a new feature documentary entitled SPRINGSTEEN & I, are calling on all Springsteen fans to make their own film about Bruce and what he means to them.
The good news for Australian fans is that the deadline for films has been extended to February 2013! In light of the upcoming tour of Oz it might be just the right time to make a film about yourself and your love for The Boss for submission to the docco "Springsteen & I".
Every hardcore Springsteen fan has a worthy story or stories about their passion, whether it be what they've done to score a ticket to a gig or plans as a ten year old child to invade his hotel room via a device that hadn't been invented yet just so you could meet him....Sure, I had that fantasy on the eve of the Born In The U.S.A tour like all good Springsteen fans aged 10 years and under (and perhaps some creepier fans that were above the age of 20.....?).
The options for what you could do are absolutely endless and what a way to pay homage to the man that possibly kick started your lifelong obsession with music. Of course you could also write a song about what Bruce means to you and perform it for the camera. If you are a fan you will think of millions of ways to articulate your dedication, love and respect with the possibility of it being preserved forever on celluloid or video or whatever they use to make the film.
You may have never met Bruce, but there is something about being a fan, as all fans can attest that makes him a very real presence in your life as if you have been buddies all your lives. Here is your chance to articulate that feeling and what drives it.
What is important is that you get cracking right now. Below is some important info from the producers.

It doesn’t matter whether it's shot on an iPhone or a professional camera- just send us the highest quality, least compressed footage you can. The film is inspired by Scott Free London’s critically acclaimed feature film Life in A Day, who serve as executive producers. The producers are Ridley Scott Associates/Black Dog Films and the director is Baillie Walsh.

New York City Serenade was written and recorded long before I landed on the planet but featured greatly in my formative years. The music, the lyrics, the tempo and the poetry informed me about New York City and what to expect from it 30 years before I even hit the joint. When I eventually got there it was exactly the way Bruce had painted it. Once he's in your head, he never leaves.
