We all know Melbourne rock & rollers, MONEY FOR ROPE are releasing their self titled LP in early November. What you may not know is that they are launching the delicious cherry red 7" single " Bruise" at The Cherry Bar on October 5.
Be enlightened about all things MONEY FOR ROPE with the following Q&A, prior to the monster Cherry Singles' Double A-Side 7-inch Launch with fellow rock n rolling band KING OF THE NORTH, who will also be launching their brand new single " Hope Is For The Faithless" at Cherry Bar Friday October 5. Now to the Q & A with MONEY FOR ROPE.
Q : You've just returned from Big Sound in Brisbane. How was that experience and have you had any nibbles?
A : Bigsound was the best mid week weekend festival we've been at, we had the best time. In terms of nibbles, have you been looking at our pen fishing rod blog?
Q : So you're on a Double A-side cherry-red 7-inch vinyl single with King of the North. How did this come about exactly?
A : The Great-man James Young was keen to put us out on a Cherry 7", incidentally, he also hooked us up with accom at bigsound as we arrived with nothing planned. Nice penthouse, mr young!
Q : Where did you record and how was that experience?
A : Hothouse with Craig and Jez, and we could have
recorded a full length was it not for craig's distracting collection of vintage
guitars.
Q : You've been described as soul-garage-pop-rock. How do YOU describe your sound?
A : Good question. We would describe our sound as garage-soul-rock-pop.
Q : Your single is called 'Bruise', can you tell us a bit about it?
A : It's a killer track that is going to BLOW YOUR STEREO UP. fuck yeah.
Q : There's a debut LP on the horizon. When can we hear it and what can we expect?
A : It will be released 9th of November through Thornbury Records.
Q : The whole 2-drummer thing is pretty unique. How does it work exactly and do you recommend it?
A : How does it work.... not sure, but I think we just hit drums and then make it sound good enough to be tolerated. We recommend it because it's great for one drummer to have a drink mid song every now and then.
Q : Any final thoughts on why Melbourne should make it down to Cherry this Friday?
A : We will all have a real cool time and having a real cool time is alright by us.
If you want more than "a real cool time" then you be greedy and don't deserve to get out and see live rock & roll. Get down to Cherry Bar in AC/DC Lane Melbourne next Fridee 5th October for goodtimes, beers and rock & roll.
