Green Day frontman Billie Joe Armstrong is entering rehab after having a meltdown on stage at the iHeartRadio Music Festival in Las Vegas over the weekend.
According to a spokesman for Green Day, Armstrong will receive treatment for substance abuse and that the band have cancelled several promotional appearances in support of Uno! the first album of a trilogy to be released over coming months.
Armstrong went bananas as the Green Day set was cut short in order to make way for Usher, screaming " Give me a fuckin break. One minute left! You’re going to give me fuckin one minute. “Let me tell you something – I have been around since 1988 and you’re going to give me one fuckin minute!" Adding the hilariously bitter commentary “I’m not fucking Justin Bieber you motherfucker.” Poor Billie Joe, substance abuse or not, I believe he was entirely within his right to go bananas. Usher???? Who the hell are organisers to usher on Usher before Green Day were done with their set.
