Pop star, soap actor and F-grade celebrity Jason Donovan scores £1 million biography deal.
According to the UK's Sunday Mirror, Donovan singed the publishing deal with HarperCollins after a bidding war. We can only assume that publishers were primarily interested in the dirt Donovan will dish about his relationship with Kylie Minogue during their Neighbours years and their subsequent break-up as she raced off with INXS frontman Michael Hutchence.A publishing executive gushed, "The chapters about Kylie are absolutely gripping and have every sexy detail about Kylie. He reveals how close they came to marriage - and details the full story of how they got together and how it all came to a sad end."
Not that it will all be about the one that got away. Donovan had a successful but short-lived pop career alongside Kylie in the Stock, Aitken and Waterman stable, particularly with their lovey-dovey duet 'Especially For You'. He also found success on the stage in UK musicals and recently appeared on the reality show 'I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here'.
Donovan plans to launch a new single 'Share My World' in June, followed by a new album. The biography should be released in Autumn in the Northern Hemisphere.
