When a song is really great I prefer not to see the accompanying video clip, something changes for me when another interpretation of the song is rendered by a director that didn't write the song and cannot really ever know exactly where the writer was coming from at the time of writing. On the other hand some directors have a wonderful knack of creating an atmosphere and not being so clever as to make the video clip a bigger deal than the song. That's what has happened for Love Migrates clip "Making This Hard"
The video was shot and directed by upcoming filmmaker Dylan Wiehahn (Active Child and Mosman Alder). Dylan and songwriter Eddie Alexander spent 3 nights camping in Main Range National Park which is about 100km west of Brisbane, filming predominantly in the early evening and right through the night to get starry landscapes.
The resulting clip is absolutely amazing and compliments the music without overshadowing it or changing the context.
'Making This Hard' is the opening single from the band's forthcoming debut album Plagued Are All My Thoughts, Like White Ants In The Fence, out through new Melbourne label Flightless on Friday Oct 12th.
