Melbournes "The Bowers" have recently returned from a European sojourn that saw them play 19 shows in 3 countries with the likes of NYC's Royal Baths in Madrid.
Definitely on the top 10 list of hardest working Australian bands right now, the boys aren't slowing down. They have a bunch of musical plans hidden up their sleeves that will be sure to make you wiggle your hips and smile till it hurts. Punters can look forward to the following....
- The Bowers are currently recording a split 10 inch with the other hardest working band in Australia right now "Money for Rope". Goodtimes!!!!!!
- Not only that, The Bowers are writing songs for not one but two albums. Talks about prolific. The first album will be a " a rock and roll-dancefloor record" and the second will be an album of "turbo slow jams." Sounds like it's going to be ultra sonic....I love it already.
- No sooner than having planted their feet on Strine soil after their dalliance with Europe The Bowers wil also be performing at fave venue for the kids of Melbourne young and old Yah Yahs 4th Birthday celebrations on Spetmember 2nd.
- The Bowers LP "Odds or Evens" is now available in Europe thru GRABACIONES DE IMPACTO and it comes with a bonus 7" of new songs.
- Now checkout their 16mm filmclip for "Time Is Mine" directed by Rob McCafferty with some fabulous shots of the band in the legendary choice of venue for burger eating in Melbourne, Danny's Burger's of North Fitzroy. They also have the best chips, and I don't even liike chips!
