Sunshine State, fuzz funsters and all round party dudes, Velociraptor, are set to release a mini LP. No more and no less than 8 songs, each coming in at an average if just over 2.5 minutes to make a snappy, not begging for more and not wishing there were less tight little unit of fuzzy rock pop just in time for summer.
That's my interpretation. If I told you the bands idea of what a mini-LP is I would be wasting time in announcing that Velociraptor are just about to release an 8 track mini-LP titled " The World Warriors" on September 7 through Create/Control.
The mini-LP will be available as a vinyl 12"- (hoorah!), CD and digital download and is the first release since their debut self titled 2010 E.P.
I've already had a sneak peak as to what is in store for fans and listeners and the news is all good! Mini-LP " The World Warriors" will be an obvious choice for summertime playlists. I can already smell the coconut oil and feel a 24 degree breeze tickling my back, such is the power of mini-LP opener "Cynthia", the extravaganza of summertime stylings, "I'm on my bike and I am free as a lark to do what I like" of Jnr Astronauts, (which does not have anything to do with riding bikes, apart from the fact that it should be in your ears whilst riding a bike in the summer) and the beach blanket bingo fun of " Do The Ruby" that will have listeners sweating garage, fuzz rock from every pore. And who in their right mind, heat affected or not could forget the final track " Surf City Raptors" which kicks off as a dreamy homage to the Beach Boys and features accompanying Wilson brothers harmonies all the way through. Oh goodness me if this mini-LP were any more summer it'd be contributing to global warming.
