The media are calling Black Sabbath's reunion a soap opera. The latest from the Gunners camp takes the cake.
NME has reported that a young man wearing a Slash (ex- Guns & Roses guitarist) T-shirt was told to get it off or go home as he entered the Guns & Roses gig at the O2 Arena in the UK on May 31. A savvy NME source noticed the disrobed young man in the crowd and asked why he wasn't wearing anything under his jacket. The 18 year old man replied that he was told to remove his Slash T-shirt because no one was allowed in if they were wearing one. The source then had this confirmed by security staff at the venue, who advised " We were told by the management not to allow anyone into the O2 Arena who is wearing a Slash T-shirt and we are asking anyone who is to remove it and if they refuse they will be turned away." Coupled with the fact that Axl Rose has been appearing up to an hour and a half late on stage does not a happy fan make.
Axl Rose can write all the articulate letters in the world to fans and the Rock N Roll Hall of Fame about his sorrow at his inability to cope with ex- Guns & Roses band members, but at the end of the day actions speak louder than words and this action against fans wearing Slash T-shirts is pitiful.
