Last Saturday night Black Sabbath took to the stage for their first show in seven years. Despite the fact that Bill Ward was not drumming, all reports thus far have been positive.
Ultimate Classic Rock reports that Tommy Clufetos who plays with Ozzy on a regular basis, played drums and that the crowd seemed more intent on enjoying the show and cheering on Tony Iommi who has been battling cancer, rather than sledging Clufetos.
The set included around 18 songs, opening with 'Into the Void' and closing with 'Paranoid.' Bassist Geezer Butler took to his website after the gig to show his gratitude, saying, "Thank you, thank you, thank you Birmingham. Best fans ever — you brought out the best in us. It was a privilege playing for you tonight. Tony was a hero — you were the best medicine he has had. Proud to be a Brummie."
