No surprises here. Lady Gaga has been refused a permit to perform in Indonesia after opposition from Islamic groups in the worlds largest Muslim state.
According to Salim Alatas, the Jakarta head of hardline Islamic Defender Front, Gaga is "a vulgar singer who wears only panties and a bra when she sings and she stated she is the envoy of the devil's child and that she will spread satanic teaching,"
Fans have set up a twitter campaign #IndonesiaSavesGaga in a bid to have the decision by Indonesia not to permit the June 3 show overturned. One Indonesian fan tweeted " Watching The Born This Way Ball for 2 hours won't hurt Indonesian people! GOD GAGA IS NOT A TERRORIST!!" This is not the first time Gaga has had oppositon in Asia. Protests from Christian groups in South Korea were instrumental in Gaga performing an "Adults only " gig in April.
