The true story of American Idol has been released on DVD by LA based Crystal Entertainment.
The ridiculousness of the fad American Idol is being told by the very people that the show took advantage of.Crystal Entertainment in Los Angeles has released 'American Idol Unauthorized'. The DVD features exclusive interviews with former contestants including Kimberly Caldwell, Lindsay Cardinale, Corey Clark, Scott Salvo, Jessica Sierra and Jim Verraros and Julia DeMato.
Season 4 contestant Scott Savol claims the show "had nothing to do with votes". Jessica Sierra, also from season 4, tells how the contestants where kept away from the process of the show.
American Idol Unauthorized exposes the reality of the reality show - that while it is possible to create some hit songs off the back of a massive television campaign, that the show is really about the contestants who are abused and ridiculed for the cameras for the sake of ratings.
Contestant Corey Clark tells about his sexual relationship with judge Paula Abdul and how it lead to him being eliminated from the show.
