Cooking Vinyl, the label with one of the most ecclectic rosters around have signed Scottish punk/pop outfit "The View" to a global service deal for their fourth album.
"The View" will line up beside artists such Marilyn Manson, The Cult, The Prodigy and Suzanne Vega. These kids have been around for a while having already been signed to Sony music subsidiary 1965 Records. Their first album 2007's "Hats Off To Buskers" reached platinum sales and was nominated for a Mercury Music Prize. Following the success of their first album the band went onto to record "Which Bitch" (2009) and "Bread and Circuses" (2011) before being snatched up by Cooking Vinyl.
The album is currently in production and being recorded at the Motor Museum Studio in Liverpool by producer Mike Crossey (Arctic Monkeys, Razorlight, The Enemy, Tribes). Thus far the album hasn't got a title but is slated for release in July coinciding with the Northern summer festival circuit and a full U.K and European tour to follow in September and October of this year.
Check out the best band to come out of Scotland since Teenage Fan Club. They are tops!
